May 2017 – When Mercy Speaks…..

TEXT: Luke 17:11-19
Literally, mercy could be seen as a kind or forgiving treatment of someone who could be treated harshly.

It could also be seen as compassion or forbearance shown especially to an offender or to someone subject to one’s power.

Moreover, we need the mercy of God in order to secure access to everything obtainable in the kingdom of God.
God revealed Himself to Moses on the platform of mercy (Exodus 33:18-23; Romans 9:15-16).

Jesus revealed to the Pharisees that He came to show mercy (Mat 9:10-13; Hos 6:6)
Whatever is given by God to man, is provided on the platform of mercy.

We receive forgiveness, blessing, healing, ministry, strength to finish strong and so many others, by mercy. Access to the kingdom of God is obtained by mercy.

Any provision we get or obtain without the mercy of God is spiritually illegal (it does not glorify God). No man can receive a thing except it is given by God (John 3:27).

Mercy works at the instance of faith. When living faith is provoked, the mercy of God speaks! (Acts 14:8-10).

Jesus Christ is Mercy personified. Everyone that approached Him for mercy was justified in one way or the other.

When mercy speaks, the impossible becomes possible; the dead situation comes alive; the dry bones live again; garment of iniquity is replaced with garment of righteousness; the handwriting of ordinances (certificate of debt) designed against one is blotted out.

The ten lepers met Jesus on the way to Jerusalem and they cried for mercy. They stood afar off, the law restrained them from moving closer to people, but their heart-cry and deep yearning for the Master could not be hindered.

Remember, the Lord delights in those who fear Him and hope in His mercy (Psalm 147:10-11). Do you hope in His mercy?

Consequently, the Lord instructed them to go and present themselves before the priests, and it came to pass that as they went, they were cleansed, they were healed…

One of the criminals hanged on the cross with Jesus obtained mercy (Luke 23:39- 43)
Rejecting the mercy of God implies that we are trying to relegate the righteousness of God, thereby promoting self righteousness.

A man that has not encountered the Cross will never see the need for mercy. He believes he has the power and might to do everything.

Only a humble man (with a contrite heart, spirit and a broken heart) can genuinely seek and obtain the mercy of God.

LORD, have mercy on me…Hebrews 4:14- 16.

March 2017 – Abba Father

March 2017 – Abba Father

Part A

John 8:35: Servants don’t abide in their master’s house forever, only sons abides forever. Christians are sons of God. Son of God by Redemption;
SO WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD?

1. Divine Coverage; When you are a child of the Almighty God, long before trouble comes, he sees the trouble, He shields you with his wings. Ps 91:1, God is responsible for your protection, God is responsible for your guidance, God is responsible for your safety, Ps 91:4, Ps 91:7-9.

2. You will have divine Insurance policy- Ps 27:5, God keeps His own in His pavilion.
It doesn’t matter how many storms maybe coming this year, If you’re a child of God you’re covered.

3. Here is a question, why was Job tested? Job 1:8-10, You can perform experiment with a servant but with a son, no! only give goodness and mercy.
4. Everyone in this world is looking forward to something. 2 Tim 4:8 sons are looking forward to rewards, Heb. 9:27 but for those not sons are looking forward unto judgement.

ALTAR CALL

Part B:
Romans 8:14-15

There are categories of sons. Why some sons want to call Him Daddy but not all are allowed. In fact, not everybody can call him father. Not all are allowed to enjoy the privilege of such intimacy.

The son in whom the father is well pleased is the one who qualifies to call God Daddy There are different types of sons according to Matthew 21:28-31. The first one repented but causes the father some anguish, also one can say he is rude.

The second was deceptive. The third said I will go and he went Matt. 26:39-42, 3:14-16,j Whom was the first to ever use the word Abba in reference to God. He is loving, willing and obedient.

When God find a special son qualified to call Him daddy(Abba father), some miraculous and dramatic things happens in such people’s lives.
Two cases study Jesus Christ and Paul the apostle Phil 2:5-8, 1:21, Act 16:25-end 1. He will shake the heaven and the earth to meet your needs, matt 28:1-2, also in the case of Paul and Silas Joel 3:16, When an earthquake is to Come from God it could come in the form of, shake the ground and shaking a system.
P1. Father whatever you have to shake in order to solve my problems, father shake it tonight in Jesus name.
2. Then nobody can stop you. Every child called “this is my beloved in whom i am well pleased”, no one can hold then down matt 28:4, col 2:15, act 16:27, Hebrew 12:29 P2. Father, pls anyone trying to or holding me down, pls Daddy show them You are the consuming fire.
3. He will turn your enemies to servants PS 110:11, eph 1:20- 22, acts 16:32-34, 2 Sam 22:45-49 P3. Father, In Jesus mighty name, let all my enemies become my servants.
4. If you are one of His beloved, He will see to it that one fulfill his destiny. No matter what the enemy may do. Act 4:8-12, 1 Cor 2:7-8, Acts 16:35-39, Ps 33:10-11. E.g. when the brothers of Joseph sold him to slavery to see if he will fulfill his destiny, yet they bowed to him.
The God of Joseph is still on the throne P4. Father, it doesn’t matter what the enemies might be planning. Let me
fulfill my destiny.
5. When you are one of is beloved children, He can not just only perform miracles for you but can also perform through you. Mark 5:25-34, 6:56, Acts 19:11-12 P5. Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, use me Lord mightily for your Glory.
6. When you are a favourite son of God, He will Protect those

SURPRISES.

THEME: ABBA FATHER 2

who are precious or close to you. Mark 4:35-41, Phil 2:9-11, acts 27:21-25.
P6. Father in the mighty name of Jesus, all those who are precious to me, because of me please keep sorrow away from them.

7. If you belong to Him, He will help you to finish well. It is not how qualified, or hard one is that gives one success or finish well. But His grace. John 17:12, 2 Tim 4:7-8, eccl 7:8, P7. Father, whatever it will take, help me to finish well. Eccl 7:8 Conclusions: What does Abba father expect from a favourite child i.e. what does He expect from me as a favourite child.

1. Total obedience Isa 1:19,1 Sam 15:22.
2. Total surrender, Phil 1:21
3. There is a saying, “Like father, like son” He expects us to be like Him. We are His ambassadors. Matt 5:48, 1 pet 1:15-16. The reason why you must be holy, is because you are the sons of your father.
4. He expects that you declare Him without shame Ps 22:22
